·        Eggplant Crispies.
Very easy to make and my personal favorites, eggplant crispies are sure to be a hit among your girl gang or in your home parties. Even as an appetizer, it is a great treat.
To prepare eggplant crispies or "baigan pakoda" as it is known in India, you need:
§  One eggplant.
§  Half cup gram flour.
§  1/4 teaspoon red chili powder.
§  Half teaspoon coriander powder.
§  Half teaspoon lemon juice.
§  Salt to taste.
§  Water for batter.
§  Oil for frying.
(Serves One)
Wash eggplant and cut it into vertical, round and thin slices. Cover and keep aside.
In a pan, heat oil for deep frying. Mustard oil is preferred but you can use any oil of your choice.
In a bowl, take gram flour and add to it red chili powder, coriander powder, lemon juice and salt. Add water to make a thin batter.
Make sure oil is amply hot. take one slice of eggplant, dip it into the batter and put it in hot oil for frying. Make sure the batter just lightly coats the slices. Fry till both sides are golden brown in color and then remove in a plate. Repeat with all the slices.
Serve hot with ketchup or any of your favorite hot sauce.
P.S. You can use potato slices as well as per your liking.
·        Grilled Cottage Cheese Roll.
Very easy to make. All you need is:
§  A big cube of cottage cheese, cut in small cubes of equal size.
§  2 cups wheat Flour ( all purpose or regular).
§  Oil for dough and grilling.
§  One small onion, chopped.
§  One small capsicum, diced. (Take any color you like: more colorful, more beautiful).
§  1/2 teaspoon red chili powder.
§  3/4 teaspoon coriander powder.
§  Any hot sauce of your choice.
§  salt to taste.
( Serves Four)
Make a dough with flour, water and 1and a half tablespoons of oil. Make as many roundels as possible of two inch diameter. Flatten with a rolling pin and dry bake on a pan over medium heat. Cook on both sides. Dough should not be raw.
In another pan, heat some oil. Put in onions and after sautéing them for a while, put in red chili powder and coriander powder. Add diced capsicum and cubed cottage cheese. Cook some more and then remove from heat.
Take the baked roundels which are just like tortillas. Spread a layer of your favorite hot sauce over it and put on our sautéed cottage cheese along the length of tortilla in the middle. Fold it completely and then grill on a griller on both sides.
Your grilled cottage cheese rolls are ready. Serve hot as whole or cut in half and serve.

What all to look forward to in an Indian Party Catering Services toronto?

There was a time when Indian party menu was quite limited to a handful of dishes. The same dishes were reinvented again and again and created a repetition of options. But those days are long gone now. That ship has sailed.
Indian Catering Services world over, such as Modish catering based in Toronto, are offering a wide array of dishes that are crafted after taking into consideration medieval flavors and techniques of cooking.
Let's just say medieval dishes from India open up a whole new world of taste and aroma, that are contemporized by infusing popular flavors and latest techniques of cooking.
Where Indian Catering Services are growing from Butter chicken and tandoori murg to more traditional Mughlai dishes, dished out after a lot of research and experimenting with different spices and condiments.
Indian Party Catering could serve you a hearty dish of Amritsari Macchi or how about some Lahori Boti Kebabs.
The variations are not just limited to non-vegetarian dishes. Indian catering Services have a lot to offer to veggie lovers as well. The days of monopoly of cottage cheese are over. A new range comprising the likes of Hara Bhara kebab (delicious cutlets made with spinach and potatoes) and Pindi Chana (a traditional tasty North Indian dish of chick peas) is on the offering.
I would conclude by saying that the next time you visit a party catered by Indian Catering Services, expect a lot of pleasant and delectable surprises coming your way.

Indian Catering Services Toronto

Indian Catering Service, serving Indian Snacks to perfection.

India is fondly called a curry nation but it’s not just curries that define what's good about Indian culinary art. Indian snacks or rather Indian street food are also popular worldwide. The spicy and tangy flavors from best offerings in Indian snacks are finding a place for themselves in restaurants across the globe. However, these dishes have evolved over the years to make them globally appealing and healthy as well. Many Indian Catering services are serving these on an international platform.

Modish Catering, the Indian Catering Service based in Toronto offers a wide range of authentic Indian snacks in its “House of Chaat” section. A mouth watering blend of taste and aroma, Indian snacks appreciated for their adaptability to local tastes and appetites while still retaining their original structure.

As we talked about variations, we see different trends being followed to make these snacks tastier and healthier in many aspects. Indian Catering services, like Modish Catering, can make this genre of Indian food apt for calorie watchers as well. For an instance, white bread crumbs used in preparation of a tikki are promptly replaced by brown bread crumbs to give a grainy texture while retaining authentic taste and aroma. Similarly, pav used in pav bhaji can be substituted with a whole wheat version. Use of olive oil while shallow frying can also infuse a different flavor in dishes while bringing in an element of Mediterranean diet. The favorite of all remains gol gappa, or puchka as fondly called in Bengal, which is the reigning king of Indian street food.

On the whole, however, Indian snacks are quite a healthy substitute for calorie laden fast foods. Veggies added in Bhaji (pav bhaji) and side dressing of tikki makes them a good way to add more vegetables in diet.

On the whole, Indian snacks can be relished any time one wants without fretting on the health quotient. If you are in Toronto and craving for some delicious and piping hot aloo tikki, Modish Catering is the way to go that offers the best Indian snacks in Toronto.
