Amazing Dessert Ideas Adopted By Indian Catering Services Toronto

Indian desserts are considered an unhealthy concoction of saturated fats and refined sugar. But that's not the case anymore. Indian Caterers all over the world like Modish Catering, Mississauga, are experimenting with international desserts to bring in versatile and healthy dessert ideas in a wedding menu. Interesting dishes are incorporated in menu while taking care of both taste and fitness. Some of these dessert ideas are:
  • Go Natural with Fresh Fruits
Fruits were quite ignored while planning an Indian Dessert menu until recently. With an increase in health awareness among people, fruits have become an important addition in dessert section in every Indian wedding. So much that the guests especially ask for them. Native and exotic fruits can be served in a variety of ways. Different fruits can be diced and served with mild seasoning. Or a fresh fruit bowl can be a wonderful addition. Throw in dry fruits like raisins, roasted almonds and cashews and you have the perfect combination of flavors.
There are endless ways to include fruits in dessert menu. With grilled figs served alongside chocolate brownies and chocolate coated dates and figs, you can take addition of fresh fruits to a new level. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw grilled bite sized pineapple pieces being served at a recent wedding I attended. Fresh fruits are the perfect substitute for sugar laden sweets.
  • Chocolates
No one can resist delectable assorted chocolates. Dark chocolates are packed with numerous health benefits like anti-inflammatory properties and more. Include them in your menu and you'll get numerous thumbs-ups from guests with a chronic sweet tooth. You can add a sugar free version while using low fat cream to prepare these delicacies to up the health quotient. Add dry fruits like roasted almonds, cashews or even roasted peanuts to make them more healthy and savory.
  • Cookies
We know why you loved the frequent trips to your granny when you were little. Cookies. Of different flavors, styles and sizes, yet loved by all. Hear your inner child when you plan your dessert menu. A simple addition of cookies opens doors to many new interesting options. No two cookies are the same, which means you can incorporate so many different types from chocolates-chip cookies to lemon butter cookies. Your guests will surely go gaga over them. To make them healthy, you can use less sugar and butter. Gluten free flour can be used as well just to be sure.

  • Cupcakes and Donuts
Cupcakes have always had a special place in my heart. And I am sure I am no exception. Cupcakes work great for weddings. I have seen big cakes in dessert section and I must say they were unimpressive. The only cake that deserves to be there is the wedding cake. Instead, we can use other wonderful options like cupcakes and donuts.
Cupcakes can be made in batches and you can include different flavors like chocolate, strawberry, red velvet or mocha. Even cream tarts can be used.
Donuts, on the other hand, are favorite among all. How can you see a donut and not reach out for it? It's basic instinct of human nature.
With so many delectable and fascinating dessert options, you can truly give your dessert menu a big makeover.

Cinnamon & how it's used by Indian Catering Services

Cinnamon is being used in Indian Cuisines since time immemorial. But how well do you know your cinnamon. Let's find out the source, benefits and uses of this wonder spice.
Cinnamon is extracted from the inner bark of trees belonging to Cinnamomum Genus. When it dries, it nicely curls up to form cinnamon sticks. Cinnamon is a tropical spice and is grown in Peninsular India, Sri Lanka and other tropical countries like Uganda. However, it is the Ceylon Cinnamon (grown in Sri Lanka) which is considered superior as compared to other types.
Cinnamon has many health benefits such as
·        Being an excellent anti-oxidant, it helps to fight away free radicals which are basically the root cause of major illnesses.
·        It is known to have anti-inflammatory properties.
·        It's anti microbial effects are known to provide considerable relief from cold.
Cinnamon has been an important ingredient in Indian traditional food and Indian Catering Services all over the world use cinnamon extensively in Mughlai dishes such as curries and kebabs. Apart from Mughlai dishes, cinnamon is traditionally used in cinnamon bagels and cakes which are delicious and tummy filling.

It has a sweet savory taste which makes it an important ingredient in majority of Indian dishes. Modish catering, the famous Indian Catering Service of Toronto, attributes the amazing taste and aroma of its dishes to cinnamon. But it should be used in just the right proportions. Excess of it may alter the taste unfavorably. To know it's proper use is an art which is mastered by Modish Catering.

To prepare eggplant crispies or "baigan pakoda" as it is known in India, you need:

§  Half cup gram flour.
§  1/4 teaspoon red chili powder.
§  Half teaspoon coriander powder.
§  Half teaspoon lemon juice.
§  Salt to taste.
§  Water for batter.
§  Oil for frying.
(Serves One)
Wash eggplant and cut it into vertical, round and thin slices. Cover and keep aside.
In a pan, heat oil for deep frying. Mustard oil is preferred but you can use any oil of your choice.
In a bowl, take gram flour and add to it red chili powder, coriander powder, lemon juice and salt. Add water to make a thin batter.
Make sure oil is amply hot. take one slice of eggplant, dip it into the batter and put it in hot oil for frying. Make sure the batter just lightly coats the slices. Fry till both sides are golden brown in color and then remove in a plate. Repeat with all the slices.
Serve hot with ketchup or any of your favorite hot sauce.
P.S. You can use potato slices as well as per your liking.
·        Grilled Cottage Cheese Roll.
Very easy to make. All you need is:
§  A big cube of cottage cheese, cut in small cubes of equal size.

§  Any hot sauce of your choice.
§  salt to taste.
( Serves Four)
Make a dough with flour, water and 1and a half tablespoons of oil. Make as many roundels as possible of two inch diameter. Flatten with a rolling pin and dry bake on a pan over medium heat. Cook on both sides. Dough should not be raw.
In another pan, heat some oil. Put in onions and after sautéing them for a while, put in red chili powder and coriander powder. Add diced capsicum and cubed cottage cheese. Cook some more and then remove from heat.
Take the baked roundels which are just like tortillas. Spread a layer of your favorite hot sauce over it and put on our sautéed cottage cheese along the length of tortilla in the middle. Fold it completely and then grill on a griller on both sides.
Your grilled cottage cheese rolls are ready. Serve hot as whole or cut in half and serve.

What all to look forward to in an Indian Party Catering Services toronto?

There was a time when Indian party menu was quite limited to a handful of dishes. The same dishes were reinvented again and again and created a repetition of options. But those days are long gone now. That ship has sailed.
Indian Catering Services world over, such as Modish catering based in Toronto, are offering a wide array of dishes that are crafted after taking into consideration medieval flavors and techniques of cooking.
Let's just say medieval dishes from India open up a whole new world of taste and aroma, that are contemporized by infusing popular flavors and latest techniques of cooking.
Where Indian Catering Services are growing from Butter chicken and tandoori murg to more traditional Mughlai dishes, dished out after a lot of research and experimenting with different spices and condiments.
Indian Party Catering could serve you a hearty dish of Amritsari Macchi or how about some Lahori Boti Kebabs.
The variations are not just limited to non-vegetarian dishes. Indian catering Services have a lot to offer to veggie lovers as well. The days of monopoly of cottage cheese are over. A new range comprising the likes of Hara Bhara kebab (delicious cutlets made with spinach and potatoes) and Pindi Chana (a traditional tasty North Indian dish of chick peas) is on the offering.
I would conclude by saying that the next time you visit a party catered by Indian Catering Services, expect a lot of pleasant and delectable surprises coming your way.
